I've spent about 2 weeks trying to figure this out, and I'm stumped.
I used to be able to control the volume of my Google Mini's in the Google Home app. Two weeks ago, I tried casting to one of my Google Mini's and noticed none of them showed up in any of my music apps. I opened Google Home, and when I tap on any mini to control the volume or cast, I get the sad ice cream cone image with "Not Available. Can't see <speaker> on this Wi-Fi network."
Here's what works and doesn't:
The Mini's work fine. I can ask them to play from any music source and they play. They can control all my smart devices.
My wife's phone (Google Pixel 8a) and our tablet (Lenovo) can control the mini's just fine. They both can cast to them and control their volume in Home.
I just cannot figure out why my phone can't cast to my Mini's or control their volume from within Home. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S24+ with the latest updates.
I'm not on any VPN.
I've removed all my ad-blocking apps.
I can see all the devices on the wireless network with a network scanner
I can control every smart device through Home
I can cast to my Roku TV fine.
I've tried resetting my wireless/bluetooth settings with no luck
I've re-installed Google Home
I've rebooted my phone, toggled airplane mode, turned off mobile data
I just got 2 new Google Nest Audios and set them up with the Lenovo tablet. My Samsung phone still cannot control them when I tap on their tile in Home.
Does anybody have any other suggestions to try outside of a factory reset of my phone?

Hi MrChris,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you try to cast your nest mini but they don't show up on any of the music apps.
Before, I begin with the troubleshooting, I'd like to ask you a few questions below:
Is the router within 15 to 20 ft (4 to 5 m) of the speaker?
Keep me posted
Best regards.

Hi MrChris,
Thank you for your response. As you mentioned, the inconvenience only occurs when using a Samsung mobile device. Since your Nest Mini works with other devices, we recommend contacting Samsung support for further assistance. We are sorry that you are facing this inconvenience.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Rusell.

Just wanted to come back and provide the solution that I found:
On my wireless setup, I had to enable mDNS support on the WLAN and make sure mDNS support was enabled on the interface.
I still have no idea why other wireless devices worked fine and my Samsung phone required these changes.
