Can't enter Serial Number.

I have problems setting up. I get to: Choose the last 4 digits of your camera's serial number but no further.

This can happen if you are using the wrong app to install your camera. Which exact camera do you have, and are you using the Google Nest app or the Google Home app to install it?  The newer cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 can only be installed in the Google Home app.

Hello I am having the same problem. I have the outdoor camera and I have tried to install it in the Nest app AND in Google Home. Google Home refers me to the Nest App and the Nest App gets stuck at "enter the last 4 of the serial" and doesn't show any options. Any help? Thanks

Which specific camera do you have? The Google Nest Outdoor Camera, which gets installed in the Google Nest app, hasn't been sold by Google Nest since Sept. 2021. The Google Nest Battery Camera (which we bought in Sept. 2021) gets installed in the Google Home app.

Do you have the latest version of each app? Do you by any chance have a camera that's been in its box uninstalled for several years? (Some customers have reported being unable to install old, never installed cameras, apparently because their firmware is out of sync with the current versions of the apps.)

I have been trying for days to set up my new nest thermometer. The QR code scan's hair trigger prevents me from using it as it takes a pic of everything BUT the code. And even when I manage to capture it, I get an error. So, I am doing it manually. I enter the 6-digit below the code as instructed, when it's time for the last 4 of the serial number, there's no place to enter it. 
 
This thing wasn't cheap, I've read a bunch of message boards where people have this same issue and I'd expect Google to be better. Please advise, I'd like to use this in the way I purchased it for.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries; we'll check this out. Just to check: what type of Nest camera are you using? Which app did you use to set up your camera? Could you please send us a screenshot of the step at which you are stuck on the set-up process in the app?
