Can't remove "linked to you" devices

KJRM

Hi all,

I've been trying to Troubleshoot this but I can't get an answer. I have two devices under "Linked to you" in the iOS Google Home app that I can't remove.

Neither device is on my wifi network so I don't have the ability to move them to a different home and I can't unlink them either. I think this is a bug with Sony Android TVs as I'm not the only person with the issue. It's a major annoyance as Google Assistant will always complain about two devices not being available when I say "Turn off TV"

The phantom devices only show in the iOS app and in Home Control on Google Home Hub devices - they don't show in the Android app.

Thanks,

D.

Hi KJRM,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your concern. Check out the link below and see if unwanted devices are still linked. If so, you can remove it from there. Also, since it’s happening on your iPhone only, you can reinstall the Google Home app.

Manage all devices

Juni

Thanks for the reply, Juni. I had already performed both of those steps and tried again today - but still no luck. The unwanted devices still show up in the Google Home iOS app (Public Preview) and on the Home Control tab of by Google Home Hub devices. I have performed so much troubleshooting and they just won't go - factory resets on devices, reset router, changed networks, changed paswords etc etc. and no joy.

Could there be a bug on just that device name "Living Room TV" as it seems to be a common error on that device name - particularly on Sony TVs?

Thanks.

I am encountering an issue similar to one previously described: I have three devices listed as 'offline' in the 'Linked to You' section of my account. Unfortunately, I am unable to unlink these devices or make any changes to their status. Could you please assist me with resolving this problem?
