Hi @Taff_D1!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Aqara bulb, which you've added over Zigbee and works fine in the Aqara app, isn't appearing in the Google Home app for automations. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Could you please confirm if you have already gone through the process of linking your Aqara account in the "Works with Google" section of your Google Home app?
  • Is the Google Home app up to date?
  • When you say you can't see the bulb in the Google Home app, does it not appear at all in your list of devices, or does it appear there but you can't select it when trying to create an automation?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi

Hi Geremi,  Yes my aqara account is linked, I've even tried relinking.

Yes the home app is up to date.

Over thread I can see it in both aqara app and home and can voice command with speaker.  When I change it to zigbee, as I believe it's better to work with thick walls, I can see and use it in aqara app but does not appear in my devices in google home.

Kind regards

Hi @Taff_D!

Thanks for providing that additional information. It's very helpful to know that the bulb appears and works correctly in the Google Home app (including voice commands) when connected via Thread, but not when connected via Zigbee.

This behavior suggests that the problem is not an issue with the Google Home app itself. Since the Google Home app successfully recognizes and controls the bulb when it's connected via Thread, we know the app is functioning correctly in terms of device integration and control.

Instead, the problem appears to be specifically related to the connection when using Zigbee and how that Zigbee connection interacts with the Aqara integration service that links your devices to the Google Home app.

If you have any questions or need additional help, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Best regards,
Geremi
