Can't setup parental controls - Add child to speaker

Hello,

I am trying to add a child to a Nest Mini. I set up Google assistant and did the voice training. When I go to add them to via Family link > Content Restrictions >Google Assistant > Add to new device, I get a message "Can't setup parental controls, it looks like parental controls aren't available at the moment..."

I feel I may need to redo the Google assistant settings or maybe there is a setting I am missing.

I did this before with another child with no problems.

Any suggestions on how to overcome this?

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. I just wanted to confirm: can your child control your Google Nest Mini via voice command? Also, setting up parental control for a Family Link child account is only available in English and in the US. What country are you in?

Hi Alex,

My child can control the speaker with her voice. I am assuming this is working of my own account (Main Google Home account) What we would really like to do is link her Spotify account. I think the speaker needs to be associated with her before we can donthis. I am in Ireland so everything is in English.

Clonius, I believe Spotify is yet to be supported for Family Link child accounts for Google Home devices or Google Assistant. You can check out the article about Let your child use Google Assistant on your devices. If you would like to know more about the Family Link account access, I suggest you contact Google for Families support.
