Hi everyone, I cannot connect my Youtube Music account to my Nest Mini. In the Music menu in Settings, the only option is "No default service" and nothing else. I've looked through the Youtube Music app but I can't find nothing.

Hi supernovacat,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry to hear that you cannot connect your YouTube Music account to the Nest Mini. I understand how concerning it is since you don’t have options to select the default music service. I'd be happy to help!

Since you don’t see any option as a default music provider, it usually happens when the mobile device system is set to any language but is currently an unsupported language for the Google Nest device.

To assist you better, please provide the following information:

  • What is the generation of your Nest Mini (1st or 2nd)?
  • What is the model of your mobile device?
  • What language is currently set on your mobile device and the Nest Mini?
  • Where did you buy the Nest Mini?

For now, I’d suggest the following:

  • Ensure that the YouTube Music app is installed on your mobile device that is linked to the Nest Mini.
  • Make sure you have the latest versions of the Google Home app and your mobile device's operating system.
  • If possible, try linking your Google Home device to a different mobile device that has the same Google account and the app installed to see if the inconvenience persists.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Hello, thank you for the help.

It is a second gen Nest Mini.

My device is a Samsung Galaxy A53 5G (SM-A536B/DS)

My phone is in Romanian and the Nest Mini is in English (US).

I got it from Altex, a Romanian retailer, for brand new.

Hi supernovacat,

Thanks for following up!

I appreciate the details you provided. Since your mobile device's language is currently unsupported by Nest devices, this might be why you're not seeing a default music service option.

To resolve this, I recommend changing your mobile device's system language to:

  • English: If you primarily use English.
  • The closest supported language: If English isn't your first choice, select the language of your preference. To learn more about the languages supported, you can check out this article: Learn about devices & services available in your region.

Once you change the language, the default music service option should appear in the Google Home app.

Please keep me updated.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
