Hi popfan,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

I understand that your Google Home app appears to have forgotten the services required to link an LG TV (via LG ThinQ) and your Dish TV to your Joey receiver. It will not allow you to disconnect these devices unless you know which service was originally used to connect them. Besides this inconvenience, you cannot connect your bedroom LG TV to Google Home; it gives you an error and doesn’t work, although it functions correctly through the LG ThinQ app. I appreciate you sharing with us important information to better understand your experience. No worries, help is here:

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • Is your Google Home app updated?
  • Is your mobile device updated?
  • Are you using the latest version of the LG ThinQ app?
  • Are you signed in to your LG ThinQ account?
  • Could you please check if all your services are activated within the LG ThinQ app?
  • Have you verified in the Dish TV documentation which services were used to link them to the Google Home app?
  • What is the error message that you get when trying to connect your bedroom LG TV?
  • Can you see your devices in your Google Home app?

In the meantime, try the following recommendations:

  1. Open your Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold the icon of your LG TV.
  3. Select the option “unlink service.”
  4. Go to the LG TV ThinQ app and look for your device and make sure it is set up correctly.
  5. Close the LG TV ThinQ.
  6. Go back to the Google Home app and follow these instructions:
    1. Tap Devices, then tap “Add” (the plus icon).
    2. Select “Works with Google Home.”
    3. Select the device maker from the list.
    4. To complete the setup, follow the in-app steps.
    5. Check if you can control your LG TV devices.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Virna
