Hi @sss3141592,

Thank you for your timely post and the comprehensive information you've provided. I've reviewed the input and understand that you're encountering issues when you try to add your ADT smart home to your Google Home app and you see a message that says it can't reach ADT smart home, please try again. I'm here to help you troubleshoot and find a solution together.

To assist you further, please attempt the following questions:

  • Is your phone, Google Home, and ADT app all up to date?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried? If so, which steps have you tried already?
  • What smart home devices do you want to link to the Google Home app?
  • This is the first time to add your ADT smart home to your Google Home app?

In the meantime, you can check out this article: Set up ADT with Google.

Please keep me posted.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for your interest in this issue.  To answer your questions

1. I deleted the cache and data, and reinstalled home. Reinstalled ADT pulse app.

2. This is not the first time I have linked ADT to home. I did this so I could arm adt with voice commands. This was all working great for over a year or more, then all of a sudden stopped working.  I dont remember having any issues adding ADT service to home, but now I can't do it. Thanks for the article link, I have been referencing those instructions when attempting to set up.

Hi @sss3141592,

Thank you for your prompt answer and the detailed information you gave, as well as for following the article's instructions for connecting your ADT smart home to the Google Home app.

Please follow these previous steps:

  • Make sure to reboot the speaker or display, the Wi-Fi router, and the home automation device.

To reboot a Google Home device

  • Disconnect the power cable from the speaker or display.
  • Wait a few seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable back to the speaker or display.

From the Home app:

  • On the home page, select the speaker or display.
  • Open Settings, tap More, and reboot.
  • Tap OK to confirm the reboot.

To reboot the WiFi router:

  • Unplug the router from the power source for about 30 seconds, then plug the power source back into the router.
  • Wait for the router to finish rebooting. This normally takes about one to two minutes.

Furthermore, if the issue remains, you'll need to call ADT.

Please keep me posted.

Best Regards,

Jeremy.

I am having the same issue. I contacted ADT Pulse support, they troubleshot the issue, and could not get the ADT smart home works with Google to connect. They gave me a call back saying they no longer support Google Home, strange after a year of support.

Any updates to this issue?

I am having the same issue. It just suddenly stopped working one day after years of no problems. I was told an ADT specialist would contact me, but no one has.

I am having the exact same problem. After having the services integrated and working for over six months it stopped working about three weeks ago, the same time ADT had to apply security patches (looks like they missed or deprecated the API support).  I contacted ADT support several times; we attempted to reenroll ADT service into google home with no success.  My last conversation with the virtual support member I was told support would return around Friday 10/25, updates would be done.  Well still not working.

Things I have tried with no success:

  1. Delete Cache for Google home, did not resolve
  2. Delete Data for Google home, did not resolve
  3. Uninstall and reinstall Google home, did not resolve
  4. Reboot ADT gateway and internet gateway (connected using ethernet), did not resolve

I was told today by an ADT person that if you do not have a subscription to Google 's nest aware you would not have the ability to manage pulse via voice.

Mind you I also have a SmartThings pub and that allows me to Lock and unlock my front door.

No clear response from ADT. No clear response from Google. Can someone take this seriously because I believe it has occurred after I upgraded to Android 15!

Hi folks,

Thank you for your timely post and the comprehensive information you've provided. I appreciate you attempting the actions outlined in my earlier post and the ADT troubleshooting that @KevinR gave. Please let me know if you followed the troubleshooting instructions in my last post and the ADT instruction.

Please keep me posted.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.

Followed instructions provided, in addition to power cycling and rebooting all connected Google home speakers (3x).  Attempting to enrolling ADT into Google Home app still fail with error message; "could not reach ADT smart home, please try again later"

Hi,

I tried each step.

Spoke with a tech at ADT again.

Someone is not giving customers the whole story. ADT or Google? The worst part is that I was told that I am doing something wrong. I am technology project manager with 20 years of experience. This problem has only now started happening as other and myself have noticed. Google has a large stage in the ADT ecosystem. They are tired at the hip. This is probably the way to get the folks that do not have neat aware to start dishing out some cash for something that was free.

This is totally underhanded and sneaky.

Thanks everyone for trying to fix what is not even announced as broken. I will continue to explore other home security solutions that provide me what I need. It would also be nice to remove a 50+ monthly ADT bill.

Maybe Abode with monitoring service is a solution. We will see.

Yes, I do agree with your assessment.  I am, also an engineer with more than 25 years of IT experience in Software and Hardware design and test.  This is quite possible a marketing strategy to move current user base to a subscription service for ADT, or developers broke the API interface that Google Home uses.
At this point I will be looking for a security solution that supports my current Z-Wave (ADT) installed devices that can be integrated into Home
