My waipu.tv Account can not be connected to my Google Account. The Google Home App doesn‘t show Waipu.tv as a video service. On the waipu Web page is an Guide how to connect waipu with Google, where Waipu is listed as a Video Service in the Google Home App
Does anybody know how to fix it?

Hi Patrickkrgr,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
Sometimes adding a new service to our TVs or Chromecasts can be confusing. Let's see what be done about it!
Since you're trying to add a live video service, you might need to follow different steps to get it paired.
What type of device are you using this time? If you have a device with Google TV, the first step would be to follow this article on how install the app on Google TV.
Then, when you link your video services under "Manager services" after pressing on "Add", make sure to choose "Live TV" instead of "Video."
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.

I've got the same problem. On Google TV itself, it says that I have to connect Waipu with my Google account by using the Home App. Within the home App, I can't find waipu in the list of video services. There is no "Live TV" section at all, as you suggested.

Hello oestarter.
Thanks for your reply.
It's important to consider that the availability of certain services in the google home app will be limited by the region your devices are currently set to and the region you are located in. So make sure everything is set to the correct region. You can also try linking your service with another device. However, if that doesn't work, feel free to reach out to our colleagues at the Google TV Community to get more assistance.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.

Hi Angel,
the Region is set correctly.
Waipu.tv also says in his manual to Connect, that you have to do it in the Ghome App.
i will have a Look if it works with an other device, but i think the Problem will Remain.
09-03-2024 08:20 AM
Is there a solution for the problem?
09-03-2024 12:19 PM
Unfortunately not yet, some probably have this problem but it doesn't seem to be that important for Google Support

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for posting in the community.
I understand your frustration with the waipu.tv account not connecting to the Google Home app. I apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.
Since it is an issue with the app itself, I need you to fill out this form to get further assistance, or you can send feedback through the Google Home app or this link: feedback form.
Please let me know how once it's done. Thank you.

Hi Folks!
Thanks for your reply.
I’m sorry to hear that even after following the previous steps you were still not able to find Waipu TV on your Google Home App. As in my previous response, I understand that this service only works if you are located in Germany.
I will suggest you change your Google Home address following the next steps:
You can check the following articles for further information: Understand & manage your location when you search on Google and Change Google home address.
Tell me how it goes.
Regards,
Daniel.

Hi Daniel,
I'd be very surprised if that had helped. But it didn't.
I followed steps 1 to 4. But them there was no map to drag a pin on.
Nothing has changed after restart.
Can you confirm that there should be a group "Live TV" when adding a service? There still is not. There is just "video" where similar services (like Zattoo) are listed. But "Waipu" is missing.
10-07-2024 10:58 PM
Have Followed your instructions.
my Location was Germany before, but i‘ve done it.
after restart, Like @oestarter said, nothing changed.
no „Live TV“ group, no Waipu.tv in the „Video“ section.

Hi folks!
Thanks for your patience and answers.
I apologize for all the inconveniences with the Waipu TV. Here I send you the feedback form if you want to put your suggestions about this feature, then we are going to be able to work on it in the future. Also, I will suggest you contact the app developer and check for compatibility or ask for a solution to this.
If you still have assistance, you can keep posting.

Hello Daniel,
This is the second time I've filled out the form.
The question is whether a solution is in sight.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the updates regarding not being able to connect Waipu.TV to your Google Home app.
I'd like to know your general region as the Google Home app only shows services available in your specific region.
Please ensure your device is set to German and navigate to the video services section. I would appreciate it if you could send me a screenshot of the services that appear.
Do you have another device available on which you can try connecting Waipu.tv? If you have another Google account to test availability, that would be great.
In the meantime, please check that your Google Home app and the devices you're trying to connect the account to are on the latest version.
Let me know what you find out.
Regards,
Angel.

Hi Angel,
I can confirm that both, app and device, are set to the same region: Germany. It's the only region where waipu.tv offers its service.
I agree on Patrickkrgr's post who says that there should be a tile "live tv" in the services selection in the home app which obviously is not there.
At least that's where the support texts lead me to activate the connection.

Ich bestätige genau das, was Ich " OESTARTER " geschrieben hat.
Ergänzen möchte ich noch das ich dies auf dem Windows PC, Android Smartphone und Android Tablet getestet habe.
Alles ohne Erfolg.

I have the exact same issue as described by Patrickkrgr and eostarter. Also cannot fi d much online. Interestingly, Waipu has an article stating that live TV now works within Google TV. I am using the new Google TV Streamer. I have added Waipu as an app but cannot add it within the Home app for it to appear with suggestions within the Home screen of Google TV. Regions are set correctly to Germany.

Hi @KKarasu!
Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you’ve been having when trying to use Waipu TV. As I understand this is a streaming service that only works if you live in Germany or if the Google Home App region is set to that country.
In order to give you the correct steps, I need some extra information. Here are a couple of questions for you:
In the meantime, you can try the next steps to link the Waipu app to your Google account:
And also, if you could please go to Settings, then go to Video, and provide us a screenshot of that screen, that would be great.
Tell me how it goes.
Regards,
Daniel.

Dear Guarcax,
thank you for your reply.
Were you able to use this streaming service before?
Yes, both as an app through my Samsung TV and through the Google TV Streamer. What I wasn't able to achieve was the Live TV option within Google TV for Waipu.TV.
How did you change the region for the Google Home app? Could you please explain the steps that you followed?
I'll be damned, can't find the option now but I am 100% sure everything is set to "Germany".
Are you able to use another streaming service?
Indeed, I am able to make Zattoo show in Live TV within Google TV. Actually, just because of this, I think about switching from Waipu.TV to Zattoo.
What is the make and model of your mobile device?
Google Pixel 7 Pro
In the meantime, you can try the next steps to link the Waipu app to your Google account:
I've already gone through these steps, Waipu.TV is not listed even though it should according to Waipu.TV. Here's a screenshot
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KgWS5vm3B0_JFRL8mRjV3DUbC_FEkzjL/view?usp=sharing
Thanks again. I think I'll stay with Zattoo but maybe there's a solution for others using Waipu.TV

Wolfgang

Hello everyone,
I just want to point out, that I have the exact same issue. I already contacted Waipu and they told me that they are working with Google on the issue. However nothing has happend. Is there any update on this?
Cheers!

Same issue on my account. No waipu service available in the Google home video settings.
I also contacted the waipu service which is in contact with Google. Response was some weeks ago.

A note from me: I’ve been using Waipu for months. At the beginning of 2024, I was able to connect it without any issues. However, in recent weeks, only six channels appear in the live tab, and there’s no program preview. I tried reconnecting the service, only to realize that Waipu no longer appears as an option under 'Home.' So, it’s still technically connected, but only partially working, with limited channels and no favorites. Unfortunately, I can’t reconnect it since the option in the Home app is also missing. It’s semi-functional as it stands, but early in the year it worked perfectly, and somehow the connection is still there... just barely.
