Devices "linked to me" cannot be removed

I used to have an old Android TV and a Google Home Mini that are now discarded and appear as "offline". I want to remove them from my Google Home app.

In the “Recognition & sharing” section in each device I see that someone else's account is "linked" and that may be the issue - I can't remove that. They were part of an old google home that has since been deleted.

I’ve tried using both the iOS app on my iPhone and the Android app on my tablet, but I haven’t had any success. I removed the devices from my Google account under “Your devices” in the “Security” section, but they still show up in the Google Home app.

When I try to unlink the devices, the app says “These settings are unavailable.” When I try to move them to different rooms, it says “The caller does not have permission.” I even tried deleting my entire home, but the devices are still listed at the bottom of my Devices page under “Linked to you.”

This is really frustrating because Google Assistant keeps trying to control these devices, and I can’t get rid of them. Please help!

Hello @Tony22,

Thanks for posting in the community.
I appreciate the detailed information about the issue you're facing. It's frustrating when devices persist in the Google Home app even after they're no longer accessible.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following:

  1. Factory Reset Devices: If you still have access to the old Android TV and Google Home Mini, perform a factory reset on each device.
  2. Check Google Account Settings: Keep the linked account your primary one and remove any other accounts from the devices.
  3. It's possible that your account is added as a guest and not as primary, so please try to put your email as a primary.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
