Yesterday when I installed the Nest Thermostat the Google Home app wouldn't recognize it even though it is a 3rd Generation Thermostat. So I had to install it via my Nest app. I thought this was supposed to be synched up? Now, I'm trying to give my spouse access to the apps so she can set the thermostat remotely and see who is at our door but Google Home doesn't see our equipment. Can someone please help me get this fixed?

I assume you are signing onto the Google Nest app and the Google Home app with the same Google Account.
The Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E get installed in the Google Nest app and are supposed to AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app if they are in the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Google Account and the thermostat is assigned to a "room". (The Nest Thermostat gets installed in the Google Home app and does NOT appear in the Google Nest app.)
However, in recent weeks, customers have been reporting here that this is not happening. Some customers have done the following to fix the problem. In the Google Nest app, create a temporary Google Nest "home/structure". Then in the Google Home app, go to that empty temporary Google Nest "home/structure" and delete it. This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat appears in the Google Home app.
