Since the gemini updates to the google home app, the app has been unusable. The performance is piss poor, i’d be lucky if i’m able to look at my cameras at all. I have an iphone 15 not the latest but not slow, i also use my phone at home on fiber internet. Here are the issues i’m seeing.
I’ve invested so much money into all the nest thermostats, cameras that it would be a big loss if i switch but at this point it’s ridiculous. I don’t need all the fancy AI features just the basic ability to view my live camera and timeline is good enough.

Hi @dtp23,
Thank you very much for contacting this community! I understand that since the Gemini update to the Google Home app, you have experienced some issues with performance when viewing your cameras, despite having an iPhone 15, which is still a very good model. Specifically, you mentioned that after several attempts, the app freezes but only works again until you force-close it. You also noted that your cameras get stuck in an indefinite loading state and that when you view your thermostat, the screen stays blank. Don't worry, I am here to help!
I understand you have already invested a considerable amount of money in your thermostats and cameras. Therefore, I would like to ask you a few questions so I can provide the necessary troubleshooting steps to achieve the outcome you are looking for:
Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.
Best regards,
Eduardo

My wife and I have this issue as well. Primarily the camera issue stated above where the live view is unable to load at all for days at a time regardless of whether we are on the favorites view or click into the video itself. We have a nest indoor camera that was originally utilizing the nest app, but this has happened since migrating to the Google Home app. We use the camera as a nursery camera for our toddler and it’s making the situation unbearable. I’ve sent MANY ‘feedback’ items with images in the app. Please help. As someone that has spent a ton of time and money on Google Home products this is very frustrating.
