Google Home Presence changes to the opposite when update on Nest, and visa versa

Hi,

I'm trying to set up presence sensing up so when both my wife and I leave the house, the away routine will run.

I updated the presence sharing in Home so I switched to my Pixel 7 Pro, and marked it as home (as I was at home). So I want to double check the Nest App to ensure my presence was both at home and switched on. But the location was switched off. I updated this on the nest app, and went to check the Home app to verify both are working and the Home app was showing that my presence was one but the "switch" to my phone like it was previously.

So for the presence sharing to work, do I need to switched on for both the Nest App, and Home App,

We don't use the home/away presence sensing capability; it seems to have too many quirks and is not useful for us. But note this:

"If you're already sharing your phone location using the Nest app, enabling it in the Home app will disable it in the Nest app. You can only use one app to share phone location at a time."

Frankly, I don't know how you're supposed to use it if you need to use both apps.

I can't get mine tho turn off on my speakers within home. It now turns off the lights of the room I'm in when I tell the assistant to turn off den light.  I'll tell Google to turn off entry light and all the lights in the house go out.  I've read this is linked somehow to presence and the Assistant. Toggle off and they automatically flip on.  Only one phone.  Whatever bug they need to figure out. You'll probably eventually get a canned unhelpful response from support.
