I have just bought a Nest Cam and set it upon Google Home
All devices are on the same 2.4Ghz network.
The camera streams to the Google Home Hub and my Pixel 9a a Samsung tablet a Pixelbook etc
The Chromecast (3rd gen - it has the G in the middle) streams live TV and photos from Google Photos
From this I deduce ALL items are working, so WHY CANT I STREAM FROM THE CAMERA TO THE TV via CHROMECAST?
How do I fix this please? I set the NestCam up with Google Home but I worry there is a Nest app setting that needs to be adjusted.

Hi ss2016,
Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're encountering some troubles while trying to stream your Nest Cam Indoor wired to your TV via your Chromecast (3rd Gen.). No worries, let's work together to find a solution.
To get a clearer picture of this situation and pinpoint the best, could you share a few more details with me? Please answer the following questions:
Could you tell me the make and model of your TV?
What specific model of Google Hub are you using?
Did any error messages pop up in the Google Home app or on any of your devices when you attempted to stream? If so, what did they say?
Do you recall when this streaming situation first started?
Just to confirm, are you able to successfully stream your Nest Cam Indoor wired to your Google Hub?
Please keep me posted.
Regards,
Byron

Thanks for your interest and getting back to me.
The TV is Panasonic, I dont know and cant find the model.
What specific model of Google Hub are you using?
I think it is a Google Nest Hub (I can find no serial number) It is running firmware 26.20250116.103.2201 and Cast Firmware 3.76.463359
Did any error messages pop up in the Google Home app or on any of your devices when you attempted to stream? If so, what did they say?
Do you recall when this streaming situation first started?
Last week as soon as I installed the new wired indoor camera. (I used to be able to stream a Hello Doorbell successfully but this is disconnected now.) I bought the camera so we could see visitors in the front yard on the TV. This is the whole reason for the purchase.
NB All devices are on 2.4GHz. I stream live TV every night and Google ambient pictures work also.
Just to confirm, are you able to successfully stream your Nest Cam Indoor wired to your Google Hub?
YES!

Hi ss2016,
Thank you for your prompt response.
Based on the information you've provided, it sounds like the devices themselves are communicating well within your Google Home app. Let's try a quick test to see if it might be related to how the camera's name is being interpreted by voice commands. Could you try changing the name of the camera you recently added? This can sometimes help the voice recognition work smoothly again.
Here is a table to use as an example of how to use the voice commands:
Please let me know how it goes.

Byron,
Byron, thanks for getting back to me. I have renamed the camera as Yard. The Chromecast's name is Living Room TV.
I have worked through your commands:
- Show Yard - Various responses. Once a picture of a field on Pixel 9a, another time it played a Youtube video on Home Hub. Also, Sorry it looks like Yard does not support streaming to remote screens.
- Whats on Yard - Responds on 9a "Play sing or Hum a song" Also, Sorry it looks like Yard does not support streaming to remote screens.
- Yard on Living Room TV - Sorry, somthing went wrong for the living room TV
- Play Yard on Living Room TV - Caused the TV to turn on and play various Youtube video
- Show Yard on Living room TV - Sorry it looks like Yard does not support streaming to remote screens.
I finished by a) opening the BBC iPlayer and casting it to the LRTV - it worked
and b) going to devices in Google Home/Pixel 9a and being sure I can see the camera OK
I hope that helps, thanks, Steve
I say "OK Google, Show Yard on Living room TV" It says "It looks like Yard does not support streaming to remote screens."

Hi ss2016,
Thank you for your prompt response. I appreciate the troubleshooting efforts for this situation. Let's explore additional options.
Could you please verify that your Nest Camera Indoor Wired and your Nest Chromecast 3rd Gen are in the same Wi-Fi network and within the same home structure in the Google Home app?
Another step you could try is setting up a new home structure, adding the devices there, and then testing again.
Please let me know how it goes.

Byron, thanks for those thoughts. I have actually shut down the 5GHz network and the router shows all devices as being on the 2.4GHz network. I have just double checked that.
A question before I rebuild a new home. Do I need to remove all the devices from the existing home before I take up your second suggestion and build a new one?
Thanks, Steve

Hi ss2016,
Thank you for your prompt response. I'm here to help.
Regarding your inquiry about removing devices from your existing home, please remove only your Nest Chromecast 3rd Gen and Nest Camera Indoor Wired. After removing them, perform a factory reset on both.
You can find helpful guides on how to do a factory reset of your Nest Camera Indoor Wired and Nest Chromecast 3rd Gen.
Please let me know how it goes.
