Hello everyone,
I'm new here and if I posted in the wrong category, feel free to move it or I'll recreate it.
It's about the following:
I have a Google WiFi Pro router. I have three heating thermostats from Eve Thermo (Matter, 4th generation). I was able to integrate these into the system without any problems. I can adjust the temperature using my cell phone, etc.
Now I would really like to add window sensors. I have now purchased the third one and am in despair. I can add them via Matter and the window open and closed function is also recognized. But I would like to set up automation. So that when a window is open, the heating automatically turns down. When I try to set up the automation, the device/sensor is grayed out and it says “Supported soon”.
Can't Google do that? Am I doing something wrong when setting it up? Is it due to the change with Gemini and Google Assistant?
Does anyone have a clever idea?
Thank you very much for your help...

Google had promised years ago that triggering automation would be available one day. That day has never come, in the main Google Home app at least. I have read that Google Scripts could do this.
I have Wi-fi sensors and use them to get my Google speakers to tell me whether the contact sensors are open or not and that's pretty much all they can do for now...

Hi Xkwadrat,
Thank you for posting in our community.
It is great to hear that you have successfully integrated your Nest Wifi Pro and Eve Thermo (Matter, 4th generation) units. I understand that you also added window sensors via Matter and that the "open" and "closed" functions are recognized, but when you try to set up an automation, the sensor is grayed out with a 'Supported soon' message. I appreciate the description you’ve provided to help me better understand your experience. I'm glad to help you with this.

In response to your inquiries looking to confirm if Google has implemented this specific Matter functionality yet, if the current transition to Gemini might be playing a role in why your sensors are grayed out, or if your setup process is incorrect, I can confirm that this feature is still not available. That is why you are receiving that message from your Google Home app.
Please consider sharing your thoughts directly with our development team through the Google Home app by following the instructions provided in this Google Help Center article: Share feedback about Google Nest.
