Hi,
First time posting, hopefully this hasn't been asked already.
I've had a frustrating experience setting up a pair of Hue Play Bars (no hub) with Google home.
I read I would only need my Google Nest Mini in the same room during pairing, so temporarily moved one into my office. Detecting the lights via the Home app took many attempts but did eventually work.
All seemed to be sorted, until I returned my Google Nest Mini to it's original room. Now I can only control 1 of the lights. The other shows as 'Offline'. Moving the Nest Mini back and forth a few times has reliably reproduced this issue.
Anyone have any suggestions? Remove and re-pair the light?
More generally, I'm wondering how this seamless setup works. Does the Nest Mini initially pair using Bluetooth, and after pairing communication through the Home app is via WiFi? Or is everything over Bluetooth, and perhaps one light is slightly better placed for range than another? Could the two lights have been paired using a different protocol somehow?
Thanks,
Colm
