Google Workplace (Gsuite) Support

As has been stated by many people and many years, Google / Nest is lacking support for Google Workplace, formerly known as GSuite. under the latter name, GSuite has been marketed by Google as a way to access their services for not only a business, but also a family. This is what many people have done and have been using for years.

Alas, Google is a master in creating services to use worldwide, but not the brightest when it comes to supporting their own ecosystems across their own products. Per my personal opinion, Google drives towards the use of a personal accounts for many services (Nest, Home, FitBit, etc.) to be able to harvest more data tied to persons and avoid liability when having to deal with actual company-setup Google Workplaces.

This leaves us, former GSuite users with a family in there, in a void where Google still does not support their own products in a workplace that was marketed to use with your family too.

 

My first and only question here will be wether or not Google is going to actively support the families using Google Workspace, formerly known as GSuite, with their line of products.

I expect a clear answer from a Google employee on this matter.

 

On a personal note:
If that answer is a negative, I probably need to move from a payed Google Workspace into a Microsoft subscription, where at least the level of support and lifecycle across products is a lot clearer (aka knowing what you pay for). Might not be ideal, but I do feel Google has been screwing over families this way for way too long now without any clear and real answering and it’s time for consequences, even if I need to rebuilt my home automation etc. Based on a different, more open platform with a better roadmap.

This is a public forum , since you have asked for a Google person to respond I have escalated this to their team.   In the future your best bet is to contact Google support directly.  They should respond after the holiday. Thanks!
