Google assistant list sync when English is not the default language

Hi,

I've been struggling with google assistant shopping list now for a couple of weeks and I can't get it to work when Swedish is chosen as the default language. It has to be something missing there in the back end.

My goal is to add items to the shopping list and sync it with any of the supported services. But it only works when I have English as the default language. I've been trying all four of them (any.do, anylist, bring and google keep) and I've tried to rename the lists in each service to any name I can think of after deleting the shoppinglist.google.com list.

But it still creates a new shopping list named "My shopping list" or "Min inköpslista" if I change app language to Swedish when I try to add an item. Please help!

To be clear, this is my procedure:

1. I delete list shoppinglist.google.com

2. I go to notes and lists in home app and choose any service (tried them all).

3. I rename the shopping list in the service to My shopping list/Min inköpslista/Shopping/List etc..

4. I try to add a new item "hey google, add tomatoes to shopping list". Tried saying it in both English and Swedish. A new list is created under shoppinglist.google.com every time, even if there already is an existing list with the exact same name.

5. I change the assistant language to English (USA) and try to add tomatoes again and now it works!

This is how it looks in the google assistant app:

English (only) set as assistant language

Swedish (only) set as assistant language, no other setting changed. Also tried setting both Swedish and English as languages. Doesn't work, even if I ask in English.

Hi Martin_Carlsson,

Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help.

A few questions: was this working before? If yes, when did the issue start? Were there changes made? What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Make sure your Google Home app is up-to-date. You may also try to reset your Google Home or Nest device and set it up again to check if that will resolve the issue.

Keep me posted.

Best,
Lovely

Hi LovelyM and Dan_A. Sorry, I've been away on vacation.

No, it has not worked before and I've already tried to reset everything. Also tried changing assistant to another google account so I don't believe it's account specific. I believe it has to do with the Swedish assistant not being compatible with these kinds of commands. As mentioned I've found another thread with the same issue.
