Since last Friday, I am unable to open the Google website, Youtube or Apple+ on my wifi set up through Google Home (Nest). I factory reset the Nest points and router. Now when setting up the points again, I am getting this error:
google assistant set up kGSKErrorDomain error-9824.
Please help.

In spite of the fact that this cryptic message has been plaguing Google Nest customers for years, if you search Google Nest Help (https://support.google.com/googlenest) for "kGSKErrorDomain error-9824", no official help is available.

Why can't they just change the error message so it is explanatory?

Thank you so much for posting. I’m sorry to know that you’re experiencing troubles setting up the wifi points and receiving this error code kGSKErrorDomain error-9824. No worries; it’s a pleasure to assist you.

It's great to know you've taken action on the matter to gather more information about the trouble and find the best way to fix it. I'd appreciate your assistance in answering the following questions:

  • When did the trouble first occur?

  • Besides your Nest Wifi points, which is the model of your router? For your reference, check out this article: What Google Nest Wifi device do I have?

  • Have you taken additional troubleshooting steps besides performing a factory reset?

  • What is the device you’re using to open the Google Home website?

  • Have you tried setting up the Google Wifi devices on the Google Home app?

Any more information you may give will be beneficial.

The issue first started about a week and a half ago.
The router is the Google Nest model H2D
I am unsure what else I can do except the factory reset.
I am using an iPhone 14Pro
I have tried nothing but setting the devices up on the Google Home App. I don;t know any other way of doing it.

Okay, I fixed it. I removed the Google Nest from the list of devices on my internet modem, and unplugged and replugged the ethernet cable connecting the Nest and the internet modem. Then I went into Google Home and linked my wifi points successfully. Phew!
