Google home app saying no default

Just wondering if anyone can help. The Google Home app says no default music service when I try to connect Apple Music to Sonos speakers. When I ask it to play a song, it will say okay playing on Apple Music and not play anything. I have restarted the Sonos updated all of the relevant apps and unlinked to the Sonos from Google and unlinked and re-linked Apple Music and Sonos. Thanks

Hi @Ben07,

Thank you so much for posting in this community! I totally understand that the Google Home app doesn't have a default music service, and that when you try to play music from Apple Music to your Sonos speakers, nothing plays. What you've been experiencing can be confusing, especially since you've already performed several troubleshooting steps like updating all the apps, unlinking and relinking Apple Music, and more, which is much appreciated. Don't worry, I'm here to help you.

I'd like to share some troubleshooting steps that might help you.

  • Check to see if there are any available software updates for your cell phone.
  • Check if this issue happens when you play music from another music provider.
  • Try to play music directly from Apple Music to your Sonos speakers.

I would also like you to check that everything in the Google Home app is in working order and functions as expected. If it is, the most advisable step would be to contact Sonos to have them check the speakers.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo
