Google home cannot find my iphone

I have set up google account on my iphone and home app with these instructions. And no matter what I do, when I ask "Hey Google, find my iphone" it says "I can't find any devices linked to your google account" https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7535860?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS

Everything else works - voice match, podcasts are streaming fine... 
How do I solve this?

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out.

Make sure that all the Google apps on your iPhone are using the same Google Account as your Google Home or Nest device. Check out this support website for more information.
