So today is the day I migrated my nest account.
I actually thought perhaps after literally years of holding off after the notoriously terrible experience had by others I now was the time things should be ok and the kinks ironed out
I click migration and it gives me a list of houses to add my nest devices to. Problem is it only lists a home I created years ago as a test with no devices in it, it didn't list my actual house with 80 devices connected. I presume my main house house is already presumed to be home and it's simply asking to add any others that I want to amalgamate.
I open the new Google home app and no. My thermostat and cameras are now in a home called 'home' everything else along with my routines are in my actual home named as it was. So I 'google' how to join homes in Google home and apparently it can't be done. Great
I go to put the hot water on...I see no option. I Google that. Apparently Google never added it and I have to use the legacy app....wait what!? Are you telling me you guys don't have the skills to add the hot water option for a product you sell to an app you created, really!!?
I notice my smoke detectors aren't there, I Google and again to my suprise after years of development, those aren't available either.
My camera previews often don't appear for 30seconds (on 500mbs internet)
How, with all the money and all the people are Google struggling to create a basic app to house all its products that it still sells? What an absolute mess it is just an embarrassment.

Yeah it's a pretty horrible system.
Doesn't seem like they put much effort into it
