How to connect Philips 43PUS8108/60 to Google Home or is it impossible?

The TV has a Linuz-based OS instead of Android TV, that's why it can't be added automatically. It can be connected to Philips Smart TV app, and Philips advices to connect the app to Google Home using "Add" -> "Works with Google", however, the app doesn't seem to work with Google - it isn't in the list of available services.

So, how do I do it or is it impossible?

Hi Maker_X,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting your third-party smart home devices (Philips Smart TV) in the Google Home app. But no need to worry, help's here!

I understand your frustration. You've tried several troubleshooting steps and your TV is still not pairing in the Google Home app. Here are some additional things to consider:

Network Connectivity:

  • Wi-Fi Strength: Ensure your device has a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal. Try moving closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
  • 2.4 GHz Network: While some TVs might support 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks, it's generally recommended to connect them to a 2.4 GHz network for better compatibility. Check your router settings and make sure you're connecting the TV to the 2.4 GHz band (if available).

Google Home App:

  • Google Home App Update: Ensure you're running the latest version of the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. Updates often contain bug fixes and improvements related to smart home integrations.
  • Re-link Philips Smart TV app Account: Try un-linking and re-linking your Philips account within the Google Home app. This can sometimes refresh the connection and resolve linking issues.

Advanced Troubleshooting:

  • Philips Support: If none of the above solutions work, contacting Philips support is recommended. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your TV model and any error codes you might be encountering.

You can also check the following details to correctly Connect third-party smart home devices in the Google Home app.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Mario
