Lights Randomly Turning Off and On

Hello,

I have multiple lights, that uses their own app to control, that randomly keep turning off and on throughout the day.

I am unsure what is causing this. I have turned off presence sensing and do not have any routines set for a certain time/day.

Could someone please help/suggest what it might be?

Update: This is still going on. Yesterday it was acting even more weird when we had company over. Google seems to go into "Away" mode, even tho I have turned that feature off and deleted it's history. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks for reaching out — let’s see what’s going on. A few things: when did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes or updates to your setup? What phone are you using (Android or iOS)? Also, what is the Google Home app version installed on your phones?

 

You can both turn off the location on your phone’s and observe if it will make a difference. Using another phone will also help isolate this.

  • When did your issue begin? 
    • It started around about beginning of February. 
  • Were there any recent changes or updates to your setup?
    • I noticed it it was around the time Routine actions were more detailed (including brightness, on/off, and color options).
  • What phone are you using (Android or iOS)
    • iOS
  • What is the Google Home app version installed on your phones?
    • Only my phone has Google Homes. I have the latest version (2.65.105)
  • You can both turn off the location on your phone’s and observe if it will make a difference. Using another phone will also help isolate this. 
    • My husband has a new Android phone, if needed. I switched Locations to work only while using app. I'll see if that changes anything.

Thank you. I have some more info, if it may help.

When I asked google to watch a TV show from Youtube TV, all the lights in the house turned on. So, not sure if it's a location or Routine issue.

Understood, Are you using your Nest speaker or phone’s Google Assistant? What command did you use? Check if your Google Assistant recognized your command. See the steps below:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Tap My Activity .

Sorry I went out for vacation. Came back and the thremostat turned off due to inactivity. But, I use the Nest speakers.

Verified that the Google thermostat shows off for presence sensing. Still having issue of the lights turning off and on...

Got it. Try to unlink and relink your lights and observe if it will make a difference.

Did you want me to unlink all 24 lights?

Update: It's turning the TVs on and off as well. Starting to think it's a Routine issue... It's randomly triggering my Home and Away Routines whenever I tell google an action.
