My girlfriend cannot broadcast from phone and doesn't see the microphone icon in her app

What the title says, my gf is invited as a member of the home with manager access but it doesn't seem like she has all the access I do.

She cannot send a broadcast from her phone and she doesn't see the microphone icon in her app.

Is there any way to give her the same access I have?

Hi Rikudou,

 

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you nor your girlfriend to have ― let’s check it out. What Nest speaker do you have? Are you both using an email with a Gmail domain? Is she able to do other features while being added as a home member? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

About your girlfriend’s Google Home app, is she on a public preview? If yours or her Google Home app is on it, leave from the preview and see if the mic button shows up. Once it shows, doing the broadcast should work. Here’s how:

 

  1. In the Google Home app, tap the "Preview" badge at the top, or go to Settings > under "General", tap Public Preview.
  2. Tap Leave Public Preview.

 

If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall her Google Home app and add her back as a home member:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Switch to the home you want to share.
  3. At the top, tap Add > Invite home member > Invite person.
    • If you don't find "Invite home member," tap Add person to home.
  4. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home > tap Next.
  5. Review what’s shared when you add someone to your home > tap Next.
  6. Review the person’s access to your home > tap Send.
  7. If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group.
    • To invite them, tap Add to Family.
    • To skip this step, tap No Thanks.
    • Note: You can have up to 6 members in a Google Family Group.

The person you invite should receive an email with instructions.

 

Note: If the person you want to invite has already requested to join your home, you need to accept that request instead of sending a new invitation.
