Nest Protect Smoke/CO Detector cannot add to Google Home App after migration. Gives me a loop.

I have been in a constant loop trying to add 3 nest smoke/CO detectors to my Google Home App. I have migrated my Nest account with Google. I followed directions clearly

1. Open Google Home

2. Tap Add + > Set up Device > Works with Google > Nest and then 

Error:

Set up this device in the Google Home App

With same instructions as before.

This is maddening!!

Need to fix. It's been over 5 months of this loop and not resolutions.

Unfortunately, Nest Protects are installed and work ONLY in the Google Nest app. I've seen lots of posts from other customers asking if they are going to be moved to the Google Home app, but Google Nest has not responded.
