When you install a Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E in the Google Nest app, it is supposed to AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app, as long as it has been assigned to a "room". However, in recent months many customers in this forum have reported this isn't happening. Many of them have been able to fix the problem by going into the Google Nest app and creating a temporary second Google Nest "home/structure", then going to that empty second "home" in the Google Home app and deleting it. This seems to force the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat appears in the Google Home app.
The Nest Protects only work in the Google Nest app. ("Nest Protect and Nest Tag only appear in the Nest app.": https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532?hl=en.)
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for assisting, @MplsCustomer.
@SirMinstral, How's your replacement thermostat? Have you tried the steps shared by MplsCustomer? Also, please make sure that you're logged in with the same email address you used for the setup in the Nest app. Let us know if it works.
@SirMinstral thanks for getting back to us and we're glad that it's working now. Looks like we can consider this one complete so let us know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this after 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer and Mark.
