Persistent Offline Devices from 'Switcher Smart Home' on Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen

I'm reaching out regarding a persisting issue with my Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen and the 'Switcher Smart Home' integration.

For some weeks now, I've encountered a significant problem where the 'Switcher Smart Home' devices, initially integrated and functioning flawlessly, suddenly appeared offline within the Google Home app. Despite successfully unlinking 'Switcher Smart Home' from Google Home, the devices remain listed within my linked accounts, showing as offline and inaccessible.

To troubleshoot, I've attempted several steps including:

  1. Clearing Google Home app cache and data.
  2. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app.
  3. Creating a new home, transferring all devices to the new home, and subsequently deleting the old home where 'Switcher Smart Home' devices were linked.
  4. Removing 'Switcher Smart Home' from any automation or linked accounts.

Despite these efforts, the 'Switcher Smart Home' devices persist in appearing as offline within the Google Home app. I've been unable to relink or remove them as 'Switcher Smart Home' is no longer visible among my linked accounts.

I would greatly appreciate any further guidance or assistance you can provide in resolving this issue. Regaining access to these devices within the Google Home ecosystem is crucial for managing my smart home setup effectively.

Thank you for your time and assistance in advance. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter.

Best regards,

Aviado

Hi MacGyver,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Try doing the steps below:

  • Go to Third-party apps & services from your Google Account > Remove Switcher Smart Home app’s access.
  • Clear the app cache. Open your phone’s Settings > Apps > Select the Google Home app (and the Switcher Smart Home app) > Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app, then link the Switcher Smart Home again.

Regards,
Alex

Hi there,

Strange. Uninstall the Switcher Smart Home app on all your devices > Reinstall it on your phone > Log in manually. Enter your user ID and password. Force close and reopen the Google Home app, then link the Switcher Smart Home app once more. If the issue persists, kindly contact Switcher Smart Home support and check if there's a need for an update with the devices or the app’s integration with Google Assistant.

Sincerely,
Alex
