Philips Hue Will Not Link With Google Home

Hello

Hopefully I am in the right place here.  A few nights ago, I told our Nest speaker "Goodnight" which should shut off all bulbs in the house.  The assistant came back reading off each bulb by name, saying it could not be reached.  I looked in the Google Home App (iOS, iPhone 14Pro) and all bulbs showed "offline".  I was able to shut off lights using the Philips Hue app. Worth noting that these have been set up and worked flawlessly for almost a year now, and we have had no recent power outages or surges.

I have tried unplugging the lamps to reset, and I have rebooted our wifi.  We use the latest generation Nest Wifi, with the primary point / router located on the main floor of the house.  The Hue Hub is mounted less than a foot away from the wifi point / router. Needless to say, every device in the house is connected to this same network, so there should be no confusion there.

I found instructions saying to unlink, then re-link the Hue app thru the Google Home app on my phone.  I unlinked, verified all of the lights have disappeared and have been removed from Google, and have attempted to re-link about a dozen times now.  In the Home app:  Settings > Works With Google > Hue > Grant Permission.

At this point, it takes me back to the Google Home app screen and says "Philips Hue is Linked" but a few seconds later, says "Something went wrong. Try Again." Repeat over and over.

Please help, as this is extremely frustrating!  The point of all this stuff is to make life easier, but it's truly a nightmare when something goes sideways!!  Thanks in advance for any direction!

Hi samtpuckett,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. Are you using Android or iOS? Is the Google Home app updated? Have you tried reinstalling the Google Home app? If not, try it and observe if it makes a difference.

Regards,

Juni
