Radio has disappeared for me,

I saw the old posts, but while I used to play every morning "Google play Deutschland Funk Radio" and TuneIn would be used, it stopped working. What are my alternatives? Very sad to see a feature removed without notice?

Hi @wanggolf,

Thanks for posting in the community.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble playing DeutschlandFunk Radio on your Google Assistant using TuneIn. I'm happy to help!

To assist you better, please answer these questions:

  1. What device are you using to stream music?
  2. Have you set your time zone and location correctly?
  3. Are you located in the United States or Canada?

If your speaker or display doesn't play the radio station you requested, try these steps:

  • Ask for the station in a different way. For example, if the name didn't work, try the call sign or frequency.
  • Add more specific information, such as "on [radio service]," to your request.
  • When you use the frequency, add the name of a nearby city. For example: "Hey Google Play 101.9 FM LA."

If these steps don't resolve the inconvenience, please visit our guide on Listen to radio on your Google Nest speaker or display; you'll find additional troubleshooting tips there.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Yours truly,

Virna

Nest Home Display, we are currently living abroad in Spain. The device is purchased in US and language set to English. I speak English with it.

Hi @wanggolf,

Thanks for the follow-up information.

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • What model of display do you have?
  • Is your mobile device or tablet connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your display?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Unlink and relink: Unlink and then relink your radio service. You can find instructions in this article: Link and unlink your radio services.
  • Listen directly to the station: If possible, listen to the radio station on a traditional radio to verify if the inconvenience is specific to the streaming service.
  • Restart your device: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor glitches. Follow these steps to reboot your Nest Display.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany

Device is a Google Home Max

I do not have the Radio Option, but my mobile is a device which has language set to German and Playstore is set to Spain

So I am able to play Deutschland Radio Kultur after:
* adding German Language to my google home

* say: Hey Google, spiel Deutschlandfunk

I tried other inputs, adding the station name details, like Köln, or the description. Not working.

However I cannot play Deutschland Funk https://tunein.com/radio/Deutschlandfunk-891-s42828/?lang=de

Hi there!

Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry to hear about all the situations that you’ve been experiencing with your Google Home Max. I understand that you can no longer play the Deutschland Radio Kultur. But no worries; I’m happy to help you find a solution.

Here I send you some steps that may help you:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Automations, then Add, and finally select Personal.
  • To name your routine, tap Untitled.
    • Add a voice command where you can say something like “Hey Google, play my station.”.
  • Add the starters and actions you want.
    • In this case, you can select audio or music and choose your German station to play on your Google Home Max.
  • Tap Save.

Please check the following articles:Create and manage Routines for Google Home automations for further information.

I will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Daniel.
