This usually happens due to an account linking or region mismatch between the Amazon Alexa app and the Google/Nest account.
A few things to check:
- Make sure you are logged into the same Amazon account in the Alexa app that the skill expects.
- Check that your Amazon account region matches the region where the skill is available.
- Try disabling the skill completely, then re-enable it and go through the account linking process again.
- If you previously linked the skill, remove the connection from both the Alexa app and the linked service, then relink.
If it still fails, clearing the Alexa app cache or trying the setup from another device/browser can also help. In many cases, the issue is with the skill’s backend rather than the Google/Nest device itself.
