Unable to link Spotify to newly set up google nest

Both accounts share the same email. When I select choose to link Spotify on the google home app my Spotify app opens and shows a check mark but when I as google to open Spotify on google nest it tells me to link the accounts. Not sure what to do?

You've probably done all this, but these are the steps Google Nest Help lists for linking services like Spotify, in case there's some nuance there that will help: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7551876?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS

Tried it and retried it but still having the same problem.

i figured out a solution if you have the app all set up delete it and go to google home and press set up new device and then press the works with google and it should send you to the website instead of the app and it should link i tired this with three apps that  refused to connect and they all work now

you have to sadly delete spotify to do it too

Hmmmm…Spotify doesn’t come up when I try the above. Am I missing something?

But it did work when I link it through music services.

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. My apologies for the delayed response.

 

Just checking in to see if anyone still needs help here. By the way, we appreciate those users who take some time to share the steps that worked for them. If you haven't tried it, please make sure to uninstall the Spotify app on your phone/tablet first before linking your Spotify account to the Google Home app. Once you linked it, you can re-install the Spotify app on your phone.

i have this exact same problem and no matter what i do it refuses to connect to my spotify account or anything to be exact
