I have just setup 2 Nest Protect Smoke/CO devices, as per the guidance I installed the Google Nest app and created a Nest account with my already existing gmail that controls my current home.
I understand that these should be just showing in my Google Home but they are not there, and I can't link my Nest account through the Google Home app because it was an account made after the migration.
Looking around in the Nest app i can find the "looking for a home from the Google Home app? Tap the + icon", but that only allows me to create a new home, my existing one doesn't show up all.
Based on everything I've read it seems like because its signed in with my Homes gmail it should all just be there, but it isn't. How can i get these devices to show up properly?
Thanks a bunch!

To the best of my knowledge Google has not resolved this long awaited function for Nest Protects to be shown on Google Home. For my older cameras and all my Nest Protects I must use the original Nest app, not HOME. An interesting thing is the Protects do show up in the Google Home app under Settings>Presence Sensing, but you can do nothing other than use them for motion presence sensing. Gives really no clues as to their status and can not change their settings. I am still waiting for some third party app developer that has the skills and understands Home Automation integration.

That is unfortunate, thank you very much for the insight on this though. Very appreciated!

Hey folks,
We appreciate your interest however; we don't have any news to share about a way to integrate the Nest Protect to the Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.
I also suggest that you send feedback by following this link. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Best,
