Unable to select a default music provider in Google home app

When going to change or select a music provider it no longer provides the option to select any. States the assistant will play via the default but then “no default selected” and no option to add one.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry to hear that you're having inconveniences selecting a default music provider on your Google Home device.  I'd be happy to help!

 

Since you don’t see any option as a default music provider, it usually happens when the mobile device system is set to any language but is currently an unsupported language for the Google Nest device. 

 

To assist you better, please provide the following information:

 

For now, I’d suggest the following:

 

  • Check App Installations: Ensure that the apps for your desired music providers (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music) are installed on your mobile device.
  • Update Apps and Software: Make sure you have the latest versions of the Google Home app and your mobile device's operating system.
  • Try a Different Device: If possible, try linking your Google Home device to a different mobile device that has the same Google account.
