Unlink accounts on specific devices

Does anyone have any idea on how to unlink non-household member accounts showing up under specific devices? Accounts can't be selected or managed under the 'device settings/recognition & sharing/linked accounts'. Occasionally this account owner ends up playing music at my house, from theirs. Their account appears nowhere in my settings other than the device itself. Thanks

Hi rov3rt,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. I'm afraid that what you're looking for isn't supported. However, instead of removing other members from a specific device, you can remove their access from a specific home's structure.

Have a look at these guides:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app
  2. Tap Favorites
  3. Switch to the preferred home.
  4. Tap Settings .
  5. Below the home nickname, tap the home member to be removed.
  6. At the top right, tap Remove .

When a member is removed from a home:

  • They get notified of the removal from the home.
  • They no longer have access to the devices or services in the home, and their account is no longer linked to the devices.
  • The assistant devices, such as speakers and displays, which include those set up by the removed member, remain in the home. These devices are no longer linked to the home member that you removes.
Exception: The Nest Hub Max may get removed, and video history footage may be deleted.
  • The removed member no longer has access to the Nest Aware features, which include the video history.
  • If the removed member is the person who pays for the Nest Aware 1st Gen subscription, the subscription is cancelled.
  • If the removed member is the payer of the home’s Nest Aware 2nd Gen subscription, the subscription goes into a hanging state.
  • The removed member's Google TV account doesn't get removed from the home. They have to sign out of the account on the home’s Google TV or in https://goo.gle/2Xy82ox.
  • If the removed member migrated their Nest Account and Nest devices (such as cameras and thermostats) to a Google Account, the member's removal from the home might also remove those devices from the home. The data associated with their Nest devices and the home may get permanently deleted, which includes the video history footage and thermostat settings.

Let me know if you still have questions or concerns, as I'll be willing to help you further.

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi Jenelyn, thanks for the response. As I mentioned in my post, the account in question is not a home member and does not show under the settings you're referencing. My only solution so far has been to delete and re-add the devices affected. Thanks
