Wifi not connected when trying to add child account to nest mini

I'm having the same issue as people in this thread: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Apps-Account/Wifi-not-connected-when-trying-to-add-child-acco...

However, the solution provided doesn't work for me. There is no option to "uninstall updates" in Settings->Google-> meatballs menu. 

Any idea how to fix this?

Hey there, 

Sorry to hear that you're still having troubles with this. 
Just to double check, you've gone through the process of trying to uninstall updates from the app as well and you're still having the issue? Would you mind trying again to uninstall updates? I know that this is an option that is there.

Sorry to hear that you're having the same issue, I know that can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Hey Garrett!

Sadly I do still have this issue. I tried reinstalling Link, tried linking in a different wifi network. In both cases, Family Link claims there is no wifi connection when I try to add my kid to Home. 

I would be grateful for any guidance here!

Hey there, 

Sorry to hear that you're still having this issue. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? You can also try clearing the cache from the app on your device as well.

I haven't been able to find that option before but it's there. It worked! One thing though: I had to add child via Home when the updates for Google were uninstalled. When I followed the original solution it didn't work (no wifi messages). However, if I tried adding kid before reinstalling updates it glitched a bit to a white screen but the worked.
