“Your Own Number” edit button is nonexistent

I’ve been trying to connect my phone number for close to 2 years at this point. The other day I stumbled along a Reddit post who had the same problem as me, which said it’s a bug with the iOS app which doesn’t allow the number to be set. But this post is about 4 years old at this point and this issue persists.

Got any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi SoCuul,

Thanks for reaching out and for the details you’ve shared. If possible, temporarily use someone's Android phone and add your Google Home app information to it, and then add your phone number. The Android version of the Google Home app works great. The number should then show up on your iPhone app. If your number does not show, try deleting and reinstalling the app on your iPhone. After you are done, delete your account from the Android phone.

I tried this and it worked perfectly.

Though I wonder why Google has decided to not fix this bug in the iOS app for multiple years now, it's infuriating.
