google home does not connect with mi home

Google home does not connect with mi home. It has worked before but just stopped.
I tried to unlink and reconnect but I just get the error: "could not reach mi home, please try again"
Tried to delete cache on both apps - log out and in - delete app and reinstall without any success.

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken.

Before troubleshooting, make sure the Google Home app is up-to-date.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try: 

• Force close the Google Home app, then reopen it. 
• Relink the Mi Home app.

If the previous steps don't resolve the issue, uninstall the Google Home app again, restart your phone, reinstall the Google Home app, and try linking the Mi Home app again.

Additionally, I suggest you troubleshoot the Mi Home app.
