"Choosing songs is only available to Spotify premium users"

I AM a Spotify premium user. If I ask Google home to play a specific song, she just says, "Choosing songs is only available to Spotify premium users." and then plays a playlist she thinks I'll like. I've tried unlinking and relinking Spotify, unplugging Google home, uninstalling Spotify, logging into Spotify through the home app, and it's still happening. Any ideas?

Hi Fixitquick,

 

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you are experiencing with Spotify on Google Home. Let’s do some troubleshooting steps.

 

  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap your Google Home device > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  • Back in the Devices tab, scroll down to Other Cast/Local Devices > Tap your Google Home device > Add to a room. Follow the instructions in adding it back to your room.
  • Unplug Google Home for a minute.
  • Command it to play music. 
  • If the issue persists, factory reset your Google Home device and then setup.
