"Works with Google" devices, voice commands work but Home app shows "unavailable"?

I have started seeing odd behavior that I have not seen before in the Google Home app.

I have a few third party Smart Devices connected through "Works with Google" (Roomba and Samsung Washer). Controlling these devices via Voice Assistant works fine, so the connection seems to be working okay. However when I look at their details in the Google Home app, both show a big useless circle with "unavailable" in the place where I would expect control buttons or status details.

Is anyone else seeing this conflicting behavior?

Hi GlennKocak,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I understand that the Google Home app is showing an unexpected behavior with your 'Works with Google' devices; even though you can successfully control your Roomba and Samsung Washer with voice commands, the app itself shows them as 'unavailable' when you try to view their details. I appreciate the screenshots you shared with us to have a better understanding of the experience that you’re going through. Let's find a solution together.

To assist you better, please answer these questions:

  • Is your mobile device operating system updated?
  • Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app? If not, this Google Nest Help Center article provides helpful instructions: Update the Google Home app.
  • Are you able to manage your Roomba and Samsung Wash using their manufacturer apps?
  • Are the Roomba and Samsung Wash apps updated?
  • Is your mobile device connected to the same WiFi band as your Roomba and Samsung Wash?
  • Are you signed in to the Google Home app with the same Google account that your Roomba and Samsung washer are linked to?
  • Are your Roomba and Samsung Wash updated with their manufacturer's latest firmware?

Please keep me updated.

Best regards,

Virna
