I recently removed my 1st gen Nest camera from my Google Home account and also deleted it from the Nest app. Even so, it’s still showing up in the Nest app as “Camera is offline,” and I’m guessing that’s what’s preventing me from re-adding it—I keep getting the C101 error during setup.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I saw a post on Google’s support page that mentions waiting 72 hours for the camera to fully reset, but I’m not sure if that actually solves the problem. Would appreciate any tips or insights if you’ve dealt with this before!

Hi Julls7,
Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're experiencing trouble connecting your 1st Gen Nest Camera after removing it from both the Google Home app and Nest app, and it's giving you a C101 error message when trying to add it back. I appreciate all your troubleshooting efforts in this situation. I'm here to help.
To further assist you, please answer the following questions:
What type of device do you have? (Here is a helpful article to identify your Nest Camera).
How far have you gotten in pairing your device?
What’s the color of the LED status light?
How far is the device from the router?
Are there any devices or appliances like baby monitors, microwaves, or cordless phones near the device you're trying to pair?
Please keep me posted on your findings.

Hi Byron,
I'm in the same situation. I am also unable to pair the device. I keep getting the C101 code. I unplugged the camera for four days per some ideas I got from Reddit. That didn't work. Today, when I plugged it in, the status light pulsed blue as if it were ready to pair. When I attempted to pair it, I got the C101 code again. I've changed the wifi SSID and password to the previous network information as well, but my phone still won't connect to the camera. It's a bit frustrating to have a functional device that I can't seem to use. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I accidentally deleted my nest outdoor camera from the app. Am trying to reinstall it but am getting the C101 error line ithat says it is linked to an account so I cannot reinstall it. I have 4 cameras and the one that I deleted is not sending images and the app says that I only have 3 cameras now to the nest or google home apps.
