2 Google Nest Doorbell w/o a Chime

I purchased 2 Google Nest WIRED doorbells. I DO NOT have a chime.

My electrician  ran lines to 1 Transformer ( 24 volt 20 VA) the doorbells work for a few days and then it seems to blow the transformer. I have called google support and one told me to switch my white wires to opposite color. (so my blue and white vs orange and white) so take the white wire that was with my blue and move to orange and then vice versa. This did not fix it. Then next time I called in they are now telling me I need 2 transformers or maybe a 40 Volt transformer. Has anyone installed 2 wired doorbells w/o a chime that could tell me how to set it up?

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. Do you still need help with this issue? I would suggest that you go over this with Support or your electrician.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Brad- I did call Support twice. Once they told me that I need to switch my white wires. 2nd time they told maybe a bigger transformer. Support did not have any real data for 2 doorbells without a chime. Hence me asking here.  My electrician has gone thru a few transformers already and is at a lost. So to answer your question yes I still need help.

@Cmuhlenkamp

I am afraid I am no electrician, but this request for multiple doorbells isn't as common of an issue we see in these forums. Without a chime I am not sure what to tell you. My suggestion would be to install a chime.

Best regards,

Brad.
