Activity zones on the Google Home web app

Hello,

I have searched to no avail to find an answer to my issue.  I have migrated my cameras from the Nest app to the Google Home app.  I can no longer create zones for my cameras.  I have a valid Nest Aware subscription but the option to create and view zones is not possible from the web.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers,

CB

The home.google.com website has been in "Public Preview" mode for a couple of years or more, and does NOT have the ability to create or modify zones.

If you have "transferred" your 1st gen cameras from the Google Nest app to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, you should be able to go to your cameras in the Google Home app and go to Settings | Events | Seen events to set up or modify activity zones.

We "migrated" our Nest Account to a Google Account in 2020, but are NOT using the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app because it too has been in "Public Preview" status for over two years and still lacks many Nest app functions.

There is no ability to create or modify zones in the Home.google.com interface and now that I have migrated my cameras to that I can no longer control them in my Nest app.  It appears that there may be an upgrade to Home in 2025.  Fingers crossed.

I ran into this problem and a number of others trying to you the Goole Home app and Web page.  The good news is Google makes it easy to move your cameras back to the Nest App so you can continue to use the old way.  But it won't of course work on the newer cameras.   For me I have been buying used Gen 1 cams from Ebay and all has been (mostly) good.   Hope this helps
