Add new nest camera and doorbell to the Next App

Hi there,

I have already added the new Nest Doorbell and Next Cam to Google Home and it all working. Now I want to add it to the Next App. I followed the instructions to scan or enter the 6 digit code but the workflow doesn't allow me to successfully complete the process. It basically directs me to Google Home app every time. What am I missing or doing wrong?

Unfortunately, you cannot add any 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells to the Google Nest app. They work only in the Google Home app.

We discovered this in Sept. 2021 when we bought a Google Nest Battery Camera, and have been using 2 apps ever since.

Thanks @MplsCustomer for the answer. I guess that explains why it was not obvious. Would help if they would message that in the Nest App.

It would help even more if the 2nd gen cameras worked in the Google Nest app.  As it is, they lack all of these capabilities:
