Battery in Doorbell dying within hours

I charged my nest doorbell yesterday for 5 hours until it said fully charged and ready to remount.  It is not overly cold outside, around 40 degrees F .  I received a message around 5am saying it was going offline due to low battery and when I check the app it is at 4%.  Is the device just done? I bought it in 2022, so it seems a little quick for that.

Hiya Alglad!

Thanks for posting in our community
Since your doorbell wasn't experiencing any overly cold weather, make sure you are using the proper camera cable and adapter, and try to plug it in any other outlet.

Also, make sure to Factory reset your doorbell to verify if there are any other issues with it.

After that, please use this article to change the settings to Save battery for your Nest Doorbell.

Please let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Angel

Can we replace batteries ? Mine dies in hours. Not cold, used to work fine. It's been 2 years or more and now it's dying within hours and no recordings to drain.

Hi there Sheli1974usa

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

The battery in Nest doorbells is not designed to be user-replaceable by design. However, if your Nest Doorbell is no longer holding a charge and you've followed all of the steps above, you can fill out this Contact Us Form so we can determine the best course of action regarding your doorbell.

We'll keep an eye out for your response specifically, so let me know once you've filled it out.

Regards,

Angel.

It was a faulty battery. I had this 2 years. I just purchased a new one from Best Buy and is holding a charge. So yes, most definitely a battery problem.
