My first IOT device was the Nest Thermostat (still using it) followed by Nest Cams and Doorbell before Google mangled the entire product line (hardware, software, and service). I also had the Google Nest Router / Mesh and that was the beginning of the end of my relationship with Google. Google Home is absolute junk and functions like it was written by an intern who got lost after rendering “Hello World” on a webpage. Needless to say my dissatisfaction peaked when Google would not honor a warranty for a camera less than 12 months old. I removed every camera (5), the doorbell, and the router with 2 additional access points and literally cut the cords and dumped them in the trash can (so gratifying). Was eBay an option? Perhaps, but why cause another pain and suffering for running inferior products? Did I do this out of spite you ask? Actually not as I designed, wired, installed, and configured a Ubiquity system (cameras, access point, viewport, NVR, doorbell, and chime) and will NEVER use Google hardware again.
To Google… Stick with your search engine and avoid everything else because you’re incapable and waste consumers’ time and money!
