Any issue if doorbell camera is getting 27 volts from the transformer?

Our 1st gen wired doorbell camera has been operating well since 2018, but now, it does not ring the chime on the 1st push of the button. It now takes 2 or 3 times to trigger the bell on the outside of the house and the chime inside the house.  I assume the 20degree temp is not an issue, so I checked the voltage to the unit and found it is getting 27 volts. I assume it has been getting 27 volts for 6 years. Could that be an issue?

Thank you

Hi @epaworld,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing inconveniences with your Nest Doorbell, specifically that it's not ringing the chime and that the transformer is outputting 27 volts. I'm happy to help!

Have a look at this guide:

  • Voltage Sensitivity: 27 volts is slightly higher than the typical recommended voltage for your Nest doorbell, which is usually between 16-24 volts AC. You can either contact a local professional. Refer to this article: Check Nest doorbell compatibility.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Melany
