Hi all,
Concerned someone can use a set of pliers to sever the anti theft cable and make off with the cam - according to https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9269698
The warranty replacement for theft would only be valid in the uk and Canada - is this accurate? Is Australia not covered and if so for any particular know. reason

Hey @Wattage
I searched on this Google support page and it sadly appears that it won't be replaced if stolen in Australia 😞

Hi @Wattage It's also valid in the US. Is there a specific region you're looking for?

Ok thanks mate, I feared that might be the case - would like to understand their logic if a Anyone from Google could explain the official position on why we are different.
the anti theft screws are not enough protection or insurance for the cost

ive still not settled on this as the most effective install location is at the front of our garage and I'm not sure how easy it will be to steal there. Would something like this be compatible and add protection? https://store.google.com/product/wasserstein_anti_theft_mount?hl=en-GB

That device should work with the cam itself, but I am not sure if it will fit with the cam when it is attached to the Floodlight. I do not have any information on that specific scenario. Please let me know if you have further concerns, and I'll address them.
Best Regards,
Brad.

Thanks guys, Google have since clarified it is under warranty (although just not listed as so on their website) however unfortunately I had already relocated it closer to my door / verandah by that point, and at an additional cost for the electrician
