Camera charging issues

My Google Nest Outdoor Camera is plugged into the charge but is still running on battery.  I tried to reset but that did not work.  It was working fine for the past couple of weeks. Can you provide me a fix.

We've had a battery camera for 3-1/2 years plugged in from the start with the optional 10-meter power cable. Under Settings | Battery, our camera always shows as "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol. I'm not sure whether the 1-meter charging cord and charger that comes with the camera can be used to power the camera in a plugged-in mode. When we've occasionally unplugged our camera to check the battery level, it has always been between 77% and 100%.

I think there might be a hidden setting that tells the camera whether it is in plugged-in mode or in battery mode, and that it has to be plugged in during the install in order to be set to plugged-in mode. There have been posts in the past from customers who purchased the optional power cable sometime after originally installing their camera, and found that they had to remove, factory reset, and reinstall their camera in order for it to work in plugged-in mode. In addition, other posts now indicate that customers using their cameras in battery mode find that they have to dismount their cameras before they will charge.

Also, the power cable has to be plugged in securely in the base of the camera with the cable feeding towards the FRONT of the camera. And some customers whose USB plugs got wet have reported problems keeping their cameras charged. (We have ours mounted under a camera shade to protect it from snow and rain.)

If none of this helps, you could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
