Cameras not catching motion

I have  Google doorbell, and 3 google security cameras , they are constantly missing obvious and what should be very clear view activity. I have gone a long time dealing with this and trying to fix myself, however finding a way to speak with anyone appears to be impossible. The cameras appear to be unreliable if they cant be used as security cameras. Very disheartening for devices that are $200+ and miss so much

Which specific doorbell and cameras do you have?

The Google Nest Hello Doorbell, the Google Nest Battery Doorbell (wired or on battery power only), or the 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell?

And the Google Nest Outdoor Cameras, the Google Nest IQ Outdoor Cameras, or the Google Nest Battery Cameras (plugged in or on battery power only)?

I believe it makes a difference.

I have the 1st gen Google nest doorbell (wired) camera and find it very reliable on my pixel 6.  HOWEVER, I have a most recent unique comment:  vehicles on my street were broken into.  During the suspected break-in hours, my camera stopped recording.  My thought is the "bad guys" used an IR blaster to blind the camera.  This was the case for 2 other doorbell cameras on the street.  My camera works fine now.

@Lulu3, a few questions: what type of Nest cameras do you have? What is the color of the status light? Do you have an iOS or Android device? Are you using Google Home or the Nest app? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you taken?
